Visitors to Palm Springs in Fall 2014 will discover that hotel accommodations in downtown Palm Springs have taken a decidedly upscale turn.
Marriott is soon to open a luxurious yet understated boutique hotel to enjoy this season. Triada Palm Springs on North Indian Canyon Drive is at the site of the historic Spanish Inn. It will be operated as a Marriott “Autograph Collection” property.
Slated for a late Fall 2014 debut Triada features 56 guest rooms and suites with specialty bath products and luxury linens. The hotel will offer poolside dining in addition to “Iluminara”, a farm-to-table concept. Triada is located between the Los Arboles Hotel where an outpost of El Mirasol restaurant offers authentic Mexican cuisine, and the modernist Movie Colony Hotel, a haven for urban dwellers.
A short walk across Indian Canyon is the popular Alcazar Hotel which also operates Cheeky’s and Birba restaurants on the same property. Also a short stroll away is Palm Springs “place to eat” Trio Restaurant and the cool sophistication of Workshop Kitchen.
In the upper end of the Uptown Design District at 2135 N. Palm Canyon Drive The Palm Springs Hotel also opens its doors in Fall 2014. Featuring a modernist design the property is co-owned by Alex Kirkwood, creative advertising director at 20th Century Fox.
Danny Munoz, general manager of Casa Runner, the Palm Springs property watch and concierge service, congratulated the new hotel operators and welcomed them to Palm Springs. “We are so excited for what’s happening in Palm Springs. It is a credit to our community that all of the new development is being done in a way that recalls and preserves our past.”
