Video Shows Off New Palm Springs

The Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau  is having fun with the positive publicity that this California desert resort area has been receiving, releasing a whimsical video that captures the area’s renaissance and vibe.

Dubbed “Kiss and Tell” the  3-minute  video touts “the road less traveled” using a young woman’s desire for adventure as the hook. Spoiler alert!  She meets the man of her dreams in, yes, Palm Springs.

Happy Couple“It is a whole new world here for the younger people coming to the Palm Springs area, especially for their first visit,” said Danny Munoz, general manager of Palm Springs-based Casa Runner Home Management.  “The video is cool and maybe a little over the top — it’s certainly meant to be fun.”

Munoz added that Casa Runner’s clients, mostly second homeowners who use his company’s property watch and rental concierge services are “absolutely thrilled” with the positive changes in the area.  Munoz cited appreciation for the area’s Modernist architecture, new restaurants, boutique hotels, art galleries, the influx of younger professionals and the passage of Palm Springs Measure J, a taxpayer  initiative that provides a portion of sales tax revenue for infrastructure improvements, as some of  the catalysts moving Palm Springs forward.  A new museum celebrating architecture’s role in art, the first of its kind, opened recently, while the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Coachella and Stagecoach Festivals along with the BNP Paribas Open bring large crowds of enthusiastic  visitors to the Palm Springs  area.

Munoz said that Palm Springs has something else to notice.

“Newly paved streets, new crosswalks, more bike lanes and new bike racks on Palm Canyon.  Our totally free BUZZ trolley.  Yes, these things mean something to visitors”, Munoz said, adding, “If you have never been to Palm Springs you will be amazed — first by how beautiful it is here in the desert, and then by the great people who live and work here, who operate our  cool places to stay, eat, be entertained.”

Munoz ended with a challenge:  “I promise.  One visit to Palm Springs and you’ll be back.”
