New Hotels Spotlight Palm Springs

Casa Runner Property Watch has shared exciting news with our clients:  With strong approval from residents and visitors alike the City of Palm Springs is moving forward with exciting hotel development projects that promise to create a new downtown and provide many options for visiting conventions, residents and vacationers.

The Palomar, a new six-story hotel to be operated by Kimpton, a luxury brand, will anchor a new downtown shopping and entertainment complex at the site of the old Desert Fashion Plaza mall on Palm Canyon Drive.

Also, Hard Rock Hotels has announced it will convert the existing Hotel Zoso to the Hard Rock brand, opening the doors to the extensively remodeled hotel in Fall 2013.

On September 12, 2013 Arrive Hotels & Resorts broke ground on a new 32-room boutique hotel to be located in the trendy Uptown Design District of Palm Springs. “ARRIVE℠ will appeal to travelers influenced by style, design and culture and those who view travel as a social experience,” said Ezra Callahan, founding partner of Arrive Hotels & Resorts. “The culture and style of Palm Springs and its growing popularity with millennials make this the ideal destination to introduce ARRIVE℠.”  The hotel will be anchored by Reservoir, an 80-seat poolside restaurant and bar. Reservoir will serve up a chef-driven menu featuring fresh California cuisine, signature cocktails, craft beers, and an extensive wine list. Just steps away, the pool area will be the social heart of the hotel, with lounge seating, private cabanas, and luscious landscaping.

The company’s announcement added that ARRIVE℠ Palm Springs will feature a striking modernist design that pays tribute to the city’s architectural heritage. “We wanted to celebrate Palm Springs’ incredible design legacy while also providing an updated perspective that would reflect and celebrate the reemergence of this desert playground,” said Chris
Pardo, the Chief Development Officer of Arrive Hotels and Resorts and founder of Chris Pardo Design: Elemental Architecture. “We think ARRIVE℠ Palm Springs will stand out as a vibrant landmark in the Uptown District.”

According to its press release Arrive has contracted with an entertainment firm to provide live concerts and events at the property.
